Organisational matters before you start
We offer support for your visa application by assisting with your application documents (such as your curriculum vitae and motivation letter) and contacting the immigration office (Ausländerbehörde).
In addition, you will receive a conditional offer from our partner university, an admission letter to our Studienkolleg, and an official information letter for the embassy or consulate.
We also issue additional documents if needed (such as invoices or payment confirmations).
We will arrange your transfer from the airport in Berlin, Leipzig/Halle, or Hanover directly to our STUDIENKOLLEG or to your accommodation in Magdeburg.
Transfers from other cities can also be organized individually.
Haven’t decided whether you want to attend our STUDIENKOLLEG yet? No problem! We offer a free trial day at our Studienkolleg in Magdeburg, where you can meet our team, tour our facilities, and sit in on classes for the course you’re interested in.

We help you with:
- City registration
- Tax-ID
- Opening bank account in Germany
- Opening a blocked account
- Health inssurance
- Hiability insurance
We issue an invoice and (after payment) a payment confirmation at the start of the course.
In exceptional cases, installment payments can be arranged with us. A justification for this is required.
Organisational matters during your time in Magdeburg
We will help you obtain and organize all the necessary documents to extend your visa or residence permit at the immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) in Magdeburg.
Certificates issued by our STUDIENKOLLEG are recognized throughout Germany, allowing you to apply to any university in the country.
We thoroughly prepare you for the official state Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) of Saxony-Anhalt — the final examination at the end of the Studienkolleg course — which is conducted directly on our premises.
During the last semester (December 2025), the pass rate for the Feststellungsprüfung at our Studienkolleg was 95 percent, enabling those students to pursue their studies at any German university. Congratulations to everyone on this outstanding result!
There are countless degree programs and universites in Germany. We support you to find the best one for you and origanize an information session with the OVGU Magdeburg, where you can gather information and receive advice.
During your time at our STUDIENKOLLEG, you have free access to Microsoft applications such as Outlook and Teams. You can download these programs onto your mobile phone or tablet. We will provide you with the necessary login details.
Our facilities include a kitchen equipped with coffee, tea, a water dispenser, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and dishes.
The room also serves as a break area and a space for our language café.
Do you have no one with whom you can have a simple conversation, a discussion, or an exchange of experiences in German? And do you want to connect with fellow students from other countries or your home country? Many of our students feel the same way.
That is why we hold a German language corner every two weeks, a chance to speak German outside of class in a relexing atmosphere. It is also a place to discuss, and exchange views on topics such as:
- Daily life
- Culture and society
- Career and future employment
- current events and opinions
We also organize language games from time to time. In addition, we host meet-ups with students from OVGU where you can ask questions about university life.
Information about our accomodations
We have four single apartments zur Verfügung available for 475.00 euros a month each.
They are equipped with:
- Kitchen, bathroom and shower
- Bed, wardrobe, table, two chairs
Subject to availability, we draw up a rental agreement for a fixed period. Rent is payable monthly in advance.
We have several apartments that can accommodate 3 men or 3 women. The rooms cost €400.00 per month.
Some areas are shared. These include:
- Hallway and kitchen
- Bathroom with bathtub or shower
The rooms are lockable, for private use, and furnished with:
Die Zimmer sind abschließbar, werden allein genutzt und sind ausgestattet mit:
- Bed
- Wardrobe
- Table and 2 chairs
Subject to availability, we draw up a rental agreement for a fixed period. Rent is payable monthly in advance.
Rent has to be paid monthly in accordance with the lease agreement. Two installments are due upon moving in.
The tenancy can always begin on the 1st or 16th of the month. It can always end on the 15th or the last day of the month.
Written notice of termination is required for early move-out. Details regarding this are set out in the rental agreement.
