University Partnership

Our partner university, the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU), is one of the leading universities for engineering and technical studies in Germany. In coordination with the university, we host guidance sessions led by OVGU counselors and current students who offer insight into student life, as well as organize tours of the university campus.

OVGU is a public university funded by the state of Saxony-Anhalt. It is named after the well-renowned scientist and former mayor of Magdeburg, Otto von Guericke (1602–1686). OVGU offers a broad spectrum of research-focused degree programs in engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, business, economics, and the humanities. The university’s main focus lies in applied scientific research, particularly in medical technology, mechanical engineering, digitalization, and sustainability. Specialized support is available for international students to assist graduates on their path into the German labor market.

Many master’s and several bachelor’s degree programs are taught in English. Aiming to expand its international presence, OVGU maintains partnerships with numerous foreign universities worldwide. The International Office at OVGU assists international students with visa applications, enrollment, and admission.

One of the key advantages of studying at OVGU is the absence of tuition fees, making it highly attractive by international standards. Typically, only a nominal semester fee is charged.

Located close to the River Elbe, the OVGU campus features short walking distances, modern infrastructure, and an international, diverse academic environment. Furthermore, living in Magdeburg is quite affordable, particularly regarding rent and the general cost of living
